Zen-tai Wellness Centre is proud to provide our private line of creams, cleansers and topical treatment products, ZenSkin, that is chemical-free, fragrance-free and made with all natural ingredients. All products are compounded on site and are produced in small batches to ensure quality and freshness. All products are formulated by our own Naturopathic Doctor, Aileen Lim-Trotter.
Aileen has had a keen interest in the cosmetics industry from an early age and spent almost a decade working for major cosmetic companies:
"I understand the lure of buying into beautifully packaged and expertly marketed products. I have indulged in expensive creams time and time again only to find that they would just sit unused on my bathroom counter after causing allergic reactions or worsening my eczema."
After one exceptionally bad 'episode' of eczema, she found that even the most mild cream she bought would aggravate her condition. She started researching the various products she was using and was disheartened to find out how many aggravating chemicals, perfumes and known cancer-causing preservatives were being used in the products she was slathering on her skin several times a day.
Her studies in Naturopathic Medicine as well as courses in cosmetic-making gave her a solid foundation to start compounding her own natural products. She developed both a strong knowledge of the medicinal properties of natural ingredients and experience in understanding the desireable look and feel of popular commerical creams. This prompted her to develop a line of products that would address her patients concerns while improving on the typical 'natural' products that often had odd consistencies or smells.
Our line of natural skin care products are designed for those who are suffering from skin conditions (such as acne, eczema and psoriasis), are sensitive to chemicals and preservatives (such as immuno-compromised or chemotherapy patients) and for those who want to feel comfortable knowing what they are applying to their skin.
Everyone can adopt our products into their regular skin care routine to keep their skin moisturized, healthy and radiant!

CALENDULA CLEANSER FOR SENSITIVE SKIN (Unscented)

- Extra gentle and essential oil free formula cleanses dirt, oils and all traces of makeup (including eye make-up) from skin
- Organic Green Tea extract is a powerful antioxidant and source of Vitamin C and E which help to repair the effects of aging and environmental factors.
- Organic Calendula Extract was chosen for its natural nourishing and anti-inflammatory properties. Better known as Marigold, this plant is rich in healing carotenoids and flavonoids.

EXFOLIATING HAMAMELIS TONER
Recommended: All Skin Types Ingredients
- Hamamelis (Witch Hazel) has been used for centuries as a gentle anti-inflammatory and healing tonic for the skin
- Organic Lavender Extract and pure distilled essential oil are antiseptic and have cytophylactic properties which help in rapid healing of the skin and in reducing scarring effectively.
When beginning to use our Purifying Toner, start using it just once a day and you can work up to twice a day.
BALANCING SENSITIVE SKIN MOISTURIZER
Recommended: All Skin Types
- Aloe Leaf juice is well respected for it's anti-inflammatory action, as a gentle moisturizing agent and for being packed full of B vitamins, folic acid, carotene and vitamin C.
- Avocado oil is naturally rich in Vitamins A, B1, B2, D and E and beta carotene which help boost skin's healing properties.
- Jojoba Oil is actually a liquid wax that closely resembles the natural sebum in our skin and helps regulate oil production. It is high in vitamin E making it a natural anti-oxidant source.
- Borage Oil has one of the highest sources of essential fatty acids (gamma-linolenic acid). It is well absorbed by the skin and helps moisturize dry and irritated skin.
- Cocoa butter contains natural antioxidants and is used for it's soothing moisturizing properties and creamy texture.
- Vegetable glycerin is a cherished humectant that helps your skin to retain moisture and keep it soft and supple.
- Organic Green Tea extract is a powerful antioxidant and source of Vitamin C and E which help to repair the effects of aging and environmental factors.
- Zenskin's signature blend of lavender, calendula flowers, marshmallow root and comfrey root are infused in gentle sunflower oil to help heal and comfort irritated skin.
